On our 2 Hour Swamp Tour Boat After a short ride in our vans or your car, you will venture into the barataria swamps and wetlands. The Honey Island Swamp/Pearl River area is unique because it contains a variety of wetlands including marshland, hardwood swamp, bayous, and rivers. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO YOU? This means that you will experience a variety of wildlife and plant life that is distinct to each region. Essentially, you can truly see all that we have to offer. WILDLIFE Numerous animals inhabit the Honey Island Swamp lands. Depending on the season, you may see alligators, deer, a variety of exotic waterfowl, black bears, wild boar, various fish species, and much more. Currently the Honey Island Swamp is home to a bald eagle's nest and occasionally there are sightings of the Florida cougar. And remember...You can safely view all of the wildlife from the tour boat. The pirate, Jean Lafitte, was rumored to have hidden some of his treasure in the region. People have also reported sighting a man-like monster similar to a sasquatch that roams the swamp's waterways. DAY AND NIGHT TOURS AVAILABLE We offer two types of tours. The day tours offer a scenic view of the swamp land and waterways. Each tour lasts about 2 hours and runs daily. At night, an entirely different variety of wildlife are active. Alligator and frog, species are generally more accessible at night.
