As you journey into these meandering bayous, your guide, a native of South Louisiana and Cajun Country, will share with you the legends and lore of Louisiana’s still untamed wilderness. Imagine the nights when the notorious pirate, Jean Lafitte, used the swamps of Barataria to store his booty. Now the nights come alive with a more natural type of wildlife.
Owls, deer, raccoons and a host of spooky creatures, make their homes in these unspoiled wetlands. Usually, peaceful by day, the night is filled with the sounds of these nocturnal inhabitants. Alligators move smoothly through the murky waters, curious to meet their "nighttime visitors".
